What is Corpse Pose?

Corpse pose, or savasana, is yoga's universal resting pose. In this posture, the body lies supine with the legs and arms wide. It is used to facilitate rest at the end of all yoga practices.

Instructions

  1. Lie on your back.
  2. Bring your feet wide and your hands a few inches away from your body, palms facing up and fingers relaxed.
  3. Close your eyes and relax your whole body.
  4. Breathe while holding the pose.

Cautions

  • Pregnant yoginis must use a blanket or other yoga prop to elevate the back
