What is Bound Revolved Squatting Toe Balance?

Bound revolved squatting toe balance pose, also known as noose pose and pashasana in Sanskrit, is an intermediate squatting twist. It gives a deeper stretch and more benefits than half lord of the fishes pose, stimulating digestion while stretching the spine and shoulders.

Instructions

  • Begin squatting with the feet flat on the floor and knees together.
  • Exhale and reach the left arm outside of the right thigh, then bend the elbow and bring the hand near the left hip.
  • Reach the right arm behind the back. Clasp the hands and then the wrists.
  • Exhale and twist the torso further to the right. Gaze over the right shoulder.
  • Breathe while holding the pose.
  • Inhale and unwind. Change sides.

Cautions

  • Avoid straining the neck if there is neck injury.
