Yogapedia explains Ananda

Buddha's disciple, Ananda, was highly regarded for his conduct and his service to others, in addition to his excellent memory. He could be called upon to deliver some of the teachings in place of Buddha from time to time, as he had memorized many of Buddha’s lessons.

The current day Ananda organization has a number of centers and retreats throughout the world, where yoga practitioners can meditate and listen to spiritual teachings. They also offer other techniques all aimed at helping to achieve spiritual growth.
